This year's Japan Festival was once again hosted by the Japan-America Society of Houston. Perfect weather plus thousands of happy festival goers made for a fun-filled weekend for all. Kamikazecon staff were on hand to entertain the kids in the children's area with the always popular cell-painting booth. While over at the Kamikazecon booth...

We were happy to meet and greet all the wonderful people that came by to say 'hello' and to talk about the con, or get information about next year's event. Many people received convention t-shirts which we were giving away every hour throughout the festival.

We entertained many festival goers by showing a variety of programming on the big screen. Anime, Live Action, J-music videos and footage of our concert were all enjoyed by the people that stopped by to watch. Here, two young kimono-clad girls are taking in Kumiko Kato's opening performance at Kamikazecon 1.

Of all the programming shown, anime proved to be the most popular, as demostrated in this picture. Showing back to back episodes of some of the more popular titles really kept the crowd entertained.

Even non-animated titles such as Live Action Sailor Moon kept people coming by to watch. Our booth staff were also seen going out to join the crowd.

Kamikazecon staff were once again happy to take part in the Japan Festival's kid's area.

Children could paint their favorite anime characters from the variety of cells we had to offer. Forky and Spoony of Forky's Anime were on hand to provide instructions and tips. We were also happy to see "kids" of every age come by and join in on the fun.

As was the case last year, this area was always crowded. Over 300 cells were painted over the course of the weekend. We all had a great time and look forward to seeing everyone again at next year's festival!
