Kamikazecon had a great time at this event hosted by the Japan-American society of Houston, INC(link: www.jashouston.org). We had sponsored the Cel-painiting event where kids were able to paint their favorite animation cels from series such as pokemon, Inu Yasha, Card Captor, and many others. We also had a lot of give-a-ways throughout the whole weekend at our booth with special thanks to Planet Anime (not with us anymore). Success Rate: 4.5 Stars

This event took place on the opposite side of our booth in the children’s area. Here, lots of youngsters try their best to paint their favorite pics of Pokemon, Card Captor Sakura, Gundam Wing, and much more. Yes, it can be messy, but everyone had fun.

We drew quite a crowd as spectators stood and watch a few anime or listened to our music as it play all day long. Sometimes, we see that they’re eyeing the special prizes that lay along our table instead of what’s on the television.

Here is one of our winners from our Hourly drawings. If you notice, a lot of others were waiting patiently for their numbers to be called out. All in all, most everyone didn’t leave empty handed. The shirt was donated to us by Planet Anime, who was a great help in making this a successful event.

As the day went on, we got a bigger and bigger crowd. Makes me want to call crowd control because it seems like we were having more people in front of our booths than anywhere around us. Except for maybe the food booths where people were waiting to buy their favorite foods, we actually got a decent crowd by the time we were giving away stuff.

Of course, we can’t ignore the fact that while we were busy giving away stuff, many newcomers painted and painted till they ran out of cels to paint. Not to worry, I’m pretty sure that everyone had a fun time and will join us at our 2005 KamiKazeCon Event where more prizes and events will be at hand.
